Not Your Grandma's Bowl is Back and Much Better than Before!!

Saturday, January 21, 2012 @ 11:30am Eastern

Monday, January 30, 2012 @ 1:00pm Eastern

Cost:  Stay Tuned for details

"Not Your Grandma's Bowl" is back and this project is better than ever.  Although I have been quiet according to the website, I have been very busy behind the scenes.  One thing I have been working on is redoing my class videos.  I cannot believe how 80s looking my original videos already appear.  I recently installed the Keynote app on my iPad.  OMG!  I LOVE it!!  It really took my class appearance up several notches and Keynote is so much faster and easier for me to use.  So, this has really opened up a lot of doors, meaning I can provide you with so much more with each one of my classes.

So, why is "Not Your Grandma's Bowl" even better than before.  One reason is a new section I added that covers what I call, "Not, This is Digital Quilting."  I came up with my own technique that incorporates the use of your computer to help you build confidence with your free motion sewing skills.  Not Your Grandma's Bowl touches on this technique, but the In The Heart of the Woods Landscape goes into even greater detail and it is awesome!!  I can't believe no one else has thought of this.  I checked the Internet and couldn't find anything quite like my technique.   So, below is what is also included with Not Your Grandma's Bowl.

Here's a list of what is included with all of my online classes contain.

  • Access to the recorded webinar (Applicable only if you register for one of the webinars).
  • Checklist (This checklist is indispenseible.  So many of you have told me how thorough my presentations are well, I decided to give you this quick handy checklist so you can make the project without having to watch the webinar/movie again or read the directions.  This list is concise but straight to the point.
  • Movies (All right, my movies are actually still shots essentially a Keynote/PowerPoint presentation with verbal step-by- step directions on how to make the project.  It's much easier for me to make movies this way because I am a one woman show.  It is so time consuming to go back and edit videos and it never fails, my tongue gets in the way every time I try to do a live video.  But, there is no cutting back on quality.  My pictures are awesome and the overall presentation is beautiful and entertaining.  I don't thing you will be disappointed.  I break the entire project down into doable segments so if you only have a short period of time to work or watch a movie, you can easily accomplish this with ease.  Generally each project contains about 4 short videos.  I am striving to make these movies compatible with a variety of mobile devices, so if you need it converted for your mobile device, just let me know and I will see what I can do for you.  There are so many of them out there)
  • Video Clips (Like I said, since I am a one woman show, I don't use too many live recordings in my movies, but if I feel I need to show you how to do a certain technique, I will cover it in the movie and also go into more detail in a short video clip.  These video clips are also available to be compatible with a variety of mobile devices.)
  • Keynote/PowerPoint (you will also be able to download the original Keynote/PowerPoint presentation I work from when making my movies.  Maybe you want to print it out to make some of your own notes.)
  • Original instruction and patterns as supplied by Sulky
  • ...and much more.  (If you have any ideas or suggestions, I'd love to hear them.)

I think you will really enjoy my classes.  Because I can incorporate a lot of technology into making my video classes, it is very easy for me to include all of these extras without jacking up the price.  Now you know why Not Your Grandma's Bowl and all of the other classes that will be available (eventually) through my webstore will be the best you can find.

Online Store

Me and the folks at Quiltroplis have been working very hard setting up my online store.  There are still some loose ends to finish up to make it ready for a grand opening.  It will feature two departments.  One is Build A Fabric Covered Button.  I am really excited about this department because this is what dreamed of doing several years ago when I purchased my fabric covered button machine.  You can get a sneak peek into Building Fabric Covered Buttons by clicking on the buttons tab, only because I could not figure out to hide it from you all.  LOL.  The next department will feature my licensed Sulky classes where you will be able to download classes instantaneously or order a DVD.  Cool!!!  When will the online store officially open??  I'm too scared to say, because I don't want to make a promise I can't keep.  I will be sure to let you know and I will probably have some sort of Grand Opening special.  You can be sure to get updates about the store by joining My Sewing Friends

This store has been a huge project and is actually helping me to develop more areas on the website.  So, thank you for your patience and thank you to Chris and Becki at Quiltropolis.  You all have been great to work with.
