On The Go Travel Tray

This fabric tray is so easy to make and professional looking too!  The finished results are just absolutely stunning.  Experiment with different fabrics and themes to make truly unique travel trays and gifts.  With button or snap closures to shape the corners, this tray will collapse flat and is perfect for someone on the go.  This project gives you a reason to use those built in decorative stitches and an opportunity to use decorative threads too!  Learn how to use the quilting guide that came with your sewing machine to create an optional cross-hatching effect. 

Michelle will teach you how to have sewing success with decorative threads, specifically metallic thread.  You will also learn how to create sewing patterns for your decorative stitches quickly and easily.  Michelle will tell you all about her favorite marking tool that stands up to time and does not dry up and easily rinses away!  Buttonholes are covered in this class extensively as Michelle will guide you through the process step-by-step.  Did you know you can even sew a button on with your sewing machine?  You will be introduced to the SnapSetter, a really cool tool that quickly and easily applies snap of all sizes and colors to your fabric.  This video is chocked full of information.  This series includes a PDF which contains screen shots of the movie for future reference.

This class is easy enough for a beginner and seasoned sewers are sure to learn something.  With a slight modification, children can make this tray as well.  Be sure to let Michelle know your child is downloading this class and age appropriate instructions will be provided.  This project is fun for all who make and receive these fabric trays!
